Belgium is a small country, but there is still so much to discover. If you live in Leuven then you certainly don't have to travel far as there are many activities, events, and sites to see in Leuven and not far away. Below you can find some links to help you discover new and amazing place around Belgium!

Leuven

In Leuven we have something for everyone. With a variety of beautiful parks, museums, cultural events, and a full event agenda throughout the year Leuven is the place to be all year round! If you want to discover the city yourself or want to find some new activities with visiting friends or families, then you can find some of our favorite resources below.

Visit Leuven is the tourism office for the city of Leuven. They have lots of info in a variety of languages. Their calendar, in English, is one of the first places we go to to find the latest happenings in Leuven. You can also visit their reception desk to get some in-person advice, maps, booklets, etc.

There is a professional basketball (Leuven Bears) and football team (Oud Heverlee Leuven - OHL) in Leuven! Going to a game is a fun way to get involved in the Leuven vibe!

If you are specifically looking for cultural events then 30CC is the organization for you. Visit the Schouwburg theater for a performance and you won't be disappointed!

Uit in Leuven is another helpful sight that provides a compilation of events from organizations around Leuven. If you get an Uitpas then you can get points for every event you attend and eventually redeem the points!

Flemish Brabant (Vlaams Brabant)

Leuven sit within the province of Flemish Brabant (or 'Vlaams Brabant' in Dutch). They have a great website, in English! We can specifically recommend their walking recomendations. There are a variety of beautiful places to explore nature around the province. On their website they explain how to choose a walk via their network of paths. This network of trails is easy to navigate using the node system. Just pick your route online and then follow the numbered signs along the way!

Another popular activity in Flanders is biking! On their website you can also plan your bike routes and choose from their already planned routes. The biking routes use the same number system with green signs.

There are also plenty of cultural and heritage activities to discover all over the province. From beers to castles find your adventure here!

Flanders

As we continue further from Leuven there are many other cities, heritage sites, and nature to explore that also sit within Flanders (the Dutch speaking region of the country). Visit Flanders is the place to go to get recommendations from the other Flemish provinces.

Brussels capital region

Brussels is only located 20 minutes from Leuven. Discover all the architecture, museums, and culture that Brussels has to offer on the Visit Brussels site.

Wallonia

Wallonia is the region in the south of Belgium that is French-speaking. Here you can find beautiful nature, castles, and a variety of events. Visit Wallonia can help you find some hidden gems in the French- and German-speaking part of the country.
