About International School Leuven (ISL)

The ISL offers preschool and primary education for children between the ages of 2.5 and 12. All lessons are taught in English, but teachers are able to teach and support students with little or no knowledge of English. There are specialist teachers for physical education, music, Dutch and French. While all children receive lessons in Dutch, French is taught in Upper-Primary.

The International School of Leuven works with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and follows the same calendar as the local schools in Belgium. The school year in Belgium starts on September 1st and ends on June 30th. Here you can find more information about the school holidays in Belgium.

A school day in ISL starts at 8:45 am and ends at 3:35 pm. On Wednesdays, school ends at 12:25 pm. Hot meals are available.
