Daytrip to Tervuren - Walk, Picnic & Africa Museum

Join us on a day trip to Tervuren and get to know the region even more! We will start in Leuven with the bus and head straight to the museum. After a guided tour of the museum we will find a spot in the park for a picnic and then go on a walk! See the agenda below.

About the Africa Museum

  • The current museum complex features 5 buildings in a neoclassical style.
  • The museum owns a unique collection displaying the great cultural diversity in Central Africa.
  • Its exhibits include the world’s richest collection of ethnographic objects from Central Africa and the complete archives of Henry Morton Stanley.
  • The current museum was founded thanks to a temporary exhibition opened in 1897 as the colonial section of the World Expo in Brussels.
