20/07/2018: Flemish Government approves draft proposal to extend the maximum validity of work permits from 1 year to 3 years
Last week the Flemish Government approved a draft proposal containing a series of measures to make working in Flanders more attractive for highly qualified employees by eliminating some of the administrative hurdles.
The most noteworthy proposed change is that the maximum validity of a work permit would increase from the current 1 year to 3 years.
While the approved draft still needs to pass the Raad van State, the target date for implementation is tentatively set at 1 January 2019.
The entire proposal is available online (in Dutch): Bis-nota Vlaamse Regering
