Intro to Meditation (Round 2)
If you’ve heard about the benefits of meditation but have no idea where to begin or meditated before and want to re-learn the basics, then this workshop is for you.
If you’ve heard about the benefits of meditation but have no idea where to begin or meditated before and want to re-learn the basics, then this workshop is for you.
The aim of this interactive workshop is to provide a foundation for starting a meditation practice. Everyone is welcome, no experience or knowledge of meditation is required. This is the second meetup of the intro to meditation, but don't worry if you didn't make it to the first one you are still welcome here!
Through simple guided exercises you will learn awareness of breath and breath control. This is the starting point for a meditation practice.
This edition will be held in the morning in the city park (specific location to be communicated via meetup on the day of).
What to bring:
- wear loose-fitting clothing (breathing exercising may be uncomfortable in tight-fitting clothing)
- paper and pen/pencil for notes if desired
- A yoga mat or towel as we will be meeting outside :)
If there is interest among the participants, future workshops may be offered to build a meditation practice one step at a time.
About our volunteer: This workshop is hosted by one of our volunteers, Julie Wedam, who is excited to share her knowledge from 4 years of meditation practice with many different techniques.
As someone who is neurodivergent (ADHD) and has worked through various mental health struggles, Julie has developed a regular meditation practice to help her manage stress and live more intentionally. She is not a mental health professional or professional meditation teacher.
Julie looks forward to welcoming you to the International House Leuven's Intro to Meditation.
