Embracing International Childhood

In this webinar we will focus out what kind of impact an international life has on our children, how we can support them throughout the many changes and transitions, and how to help them develop a healthy sense of belonging.

Children who grow up abroad have the unique opportunity to immerse into different cultures, learn several languages, and appreciate diversity.

Those who spend all or a significant part of their developmental years outside their parent's country are also known as Third Culture Kids. They use to build relationships to all of the cultures. They assimilate elements from each of the cultures and develop a unique sense of belonging to others with similar experiences.

In this webinar we will focus out what kind of impact an international life has on our children, how we can support them throughout the many changes and transitions, and how to help them develop a healthy sense of belonging. Ute Limacher-Riebold will share scientific findings, experiences, as well as practical tips. There will also be time for you to share your experiences and ask questions.

Ute Limacher-Riebold PhD is an Intercultural Communication Trainer at Ute's International Lounge. As a life-long international, she has lived and worked in several European countries. She supports internationals maintain their home languages and cultures, and adjust to the new cultures in the most healthy way. She believes that understanding the other culture and language and knowing how to manage our expectations allows us to thrive everywhere. In her workshops, trainings and courses she shares insights into the latest scientific findings, as well as her own experience and the one of her clients.
