Cooking Workshop: All About Apples

Making the most of local seasonal produce is a win-win-win—for your taste buds, your wallet, and your community! Join International House for a Cooking Workshop celebrating apples, one of Belgium’s most abundant and important fall crops.

Crunchy, sweet, and portable, apples may be the perfect snack. But their uses in the kitchen go far beyond the lunchbox. During this interactive workshop, we’ll dive into the diversity of apple flavors and varieties, and learn ways to extend the apple harvest (and stretch our budgets). We’ll demonstrate how to make homemade apple granola and share other healthy, economical recipes, discuss selecting and storing apples, and offer tips for using this fabulous fruit in every meal.

Participants will enjoy a hot spiced apple drink, sample apples paired with cheeses and local honey, and take home a small bag of apple granola. Payment required at time of registration.
